What every session includes.

The time I spend with your child is one part of the work. The rest happens before and after each session, and it’s all built into one rate. Here’s what that rate covers.

Questions about pricing.

How much does structured literacy intervention cost?

Each session is $95. Every family starts with a free 30-minute consult, so you know the cost before you begin.

How does billing work?

Billing is monthly, for that month’s sessions. There are no prepaid packages or long-term contracts.

Do you accept insurance, FSA, or HSA?

Lantern does not accept or bill insurance, and families enroll and pay directly. If you have an FSA or HSA, check with your plan administrator to confirm whether this kind of expense qualifies.

What happens in a session?

Every session is 60 minutes, one-to-one with me, planned around your child’s current profile and progress.

How long will this take?

There is no fixed timeline, as structured literacy relies on automatic mastery rather than moving through a set curriculum. I recommend beginning with a block of about 36 sessions (three times a week for 60 minutes) to establish room for the sequence to build on itself. Overall duration depends on your child’s age, starting profile, processing speed, and schedule consistency. Progress is reviewed regularly to adjust the plan, so skills become secure and automatic rather than rushing ahead and creating gaps.

Can I use ESA+ scholarship funds for sessions?

Lantern is an enrolled provider for the Education Student Accounts (ESA+) scholarship and is approved to accept ESA+ scholarship funds. Whether a specific service qualifies is determined by SEAA. Families are encouraged to review the ESA+ guidelines and contact the ESA+ team at ESA@ncseaa.edu before committing. You can learn more at k12.ncseaa.edu.

An enrolled ESA+ provider

Lantern Academic Interventions is an enrolled provider for the Education Student Accounts (ESA+) scholarship and is approved to accept ESA+ scholarship funds.

North Carolina families can use ESA+ scholarship funds to pay for certain qualifying education expenses, such as educational therapy, tutoring and supplemental teaching services, subject to review and approval by SEAA. Not every service meets the criteria for a qualifying expense, so before committing, families are encouraged to review the ESA+ guidelines.
